Crispy Morel Burger
Epic. That’s how I would describe this take on a burger. It was the perfect meal after a day of successful morel hunting. I loved it with a little spicy sriracha sauce.
Depending on how many burgers you make, you may need to double the flour seasoning and whisk an extra egg.
Crispy Morel Burger
1 egg, whisked
4-6 morels per burger
Burger fixings of your liking. I went with red onions, crunchy dill pickles and fresh lettuce.
Oil for pan frying
Flour seasoning (per 3/4 cup)
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp garlic salt
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp paprika
Dash of cayenne pepper
Ground pepper
Clean your morels. If you need to, you can toss in some fresh water and dry on a paper towel ahead of time.
Dredge the morels in the egg, followed by the flour. I recommend repeating this process twice for extra crispy morels.
Shallow fry with hot oil in a pan until all sides are golden brown. Assemble the burger and enjoy!
